Here is one on ebay. See #230572423691

Quite expensive but they are taking offers.

Best Wishes!

Thank you so much for your note about the one on ebay. I did see this and made a generous offer compared to what I'm sure it originally cost, but they counter offered with $85.00. Way too much!!! It's frustrating that there are people out there who will take advantage of someone wanting to replace a lost lovey for their child.

I am sorry that they did not accept your offer and will gladly keep looking for you.

Please know that I understand and respect you opinion on how you feel about the price. This is why I always suggest to parents to get more than one of your child’s favorite toy before they are discontinued and impossible to find. Most toys are in stores for 6 months to 1 year after that time they are discontinued and can become high in demand which makes the price rise.

As a used toy store owner and toy finder I am in this business too and look at it quite a bit different than you do. If these sellers did not list these items for purchase it would be next to impossible to find replacements for these hard to find items. They are not meaning to take advantage, they are trying to help. It is supply and demand. The prices are set by what a buyer is willing to pay. Stores like Wal-Mart do research to know where to price. There are no real price guides for used toys or discontinued items. I do quite a bit of research on each item when I list them to be sure I am competitively priced. I have found that if items are priced too cheap then my competitors will buy them, mark them up and resell them. Then some child/family in need will miss out. I try to price in the middle range of where an item is selling on eBay, Amazon, Bonanza, etc. when my item first gets listed. Some families are upset like you because they expect to pay what they initially paid especially when the item is used. Other families are just thrilled to find another one of these treasures and feel that it is worth whatever the price.

You definitely do not have to pay what they are asking, you can always keep searching for the price you are willing to pay. This item may go down over time or it may go even higher.

Some of the best places to look for discontinued toys are thrift stores, garage sales, baby resale shops, eBay, eCrater & Bonanza. You can even put a wanted posting on craigslist in your area.

As I mentioned before, I will gladly keep looking and I will post if I find another one. I hope you have a better understanding into the sellers side of things and I wish you the best in your search. From Susie @ Asuwishshop on eCrater
